x1 AEC MILITANT MK3 RECOVERY VEHICLE (RV) REF U4250 (C. 1966 - 1990s)
The AEC Militant Mk.3, introduced in 1966, was a much-improved recovery vehicle designed for heavy recovery roles. It was part of the FV-11000 family and featured a 6x6 configuration. The Mk.3 was equipped with a hydraulic crane supplied by Coles, capable of lifting loads up to 5 tons, and a winch from Scammell with a maximum capacity of 22 tonnes. While it served primarily in the 1960s and 1970s, in some cases, it remained in service until the 1990s. This image makes for an excellent choice for creating wall art, large prints, or other creative projects.
This image has been carefully restored from the original vintage negative. Significant blemishes and scratches have been addressed where possible, and contrast has been adjusted to bring the image as close as possible to its original state. This collection is incredibly rare, potentially featuring prototypes, early versions, or variants.
