  • The butchers was haunted as well, there was a piece done about it in the Evening standard, my dad was interviewed for it

  • I remember a story about a world war 2 pilot seen walking around tavy bridge. And all the houses above shops were haunted aswell?

  • Thamesmead was built on old marshland and parts of the Woolwich arsenal, his plane was meant to have crashed in WWII and tavy was built on top of the crash site. It was the basement part of the shops that he haunted, my dad saw him and when I worked in the hairdressers a few of the girls wouldnt go down to the basement alone, it always struck cold down there.

  • Just found this online, got me wondering now lol...

            RAF Pilot

Location: Thamesmead - Abbey Road and Tavy Bridge, former Erith MarshesType:                     Haunting ManifestationDate / Time: Late twentieth centuryFurther Comments: This pilot             died when his spitfire crashed into the marshes during World War 2. This tall, dark                     uniformed man has been reported in several buildings along the road. Some also report             that the sound of a German aircraft crashing into the marshes here can still be heard.

  • Yes it was the butchers, Albert the butcher of Dewhurst told us the story he was a air pilot, he actually see him when he was locking up one night putting meat away, and fell down stairs and broke his arm, also lakeside complex had a ghost

  • My next door neighbour used to clean in the old NatWest bank on Tavy Bridge and she often said she heard things while she was in there on her own. She told me it was an RAF Pilot too. When I lived at number 8 seacourt road we found out that the previous tenant had hung himself in our bathroom...Now that was scary lol!!! x

  • Yes the ghost was above Dewhurst butchers, the world war 11 pilot.

  • When dewhurst butchers was there albert who worked the said he saw a ghost /it was even in the local paper many yrs back.

  • My favourite of all time has to be the Tump!!! and trying to find the white lady, loved it xxx

    • Tell me more about the white lady please...?

    • It was a ghost story alot ov people said that they see a white figure in the trump at nite
