hello Steve like you i spent a lot of time in the arsenal as a kid from the mid seventies to the mid eighties. It was a great place to have on your doorstep to go shooting, fishing, or digging for dud rounds in the ditch near the 600 ft range.there was so much in there that you didn't give much thought to it when you were a teen but know you look back and the phrase (dodging a bullet) is quite apt.The moats were overgrown near waterfield school then with security patrolling in vehicles no houses then just overgrown land.Twin tumps or treble moats as we called em was the best fishing tench and roach great days. Also, the big blast sheds and ranges opposite belmarsh prison were a favourite you had time to escape if security arrived there. We only got caught by security the once up the green tower no running that day.also remember a big odd building at the end of the long wall which looked like an underground train station were you had a lot of tiled shower cubicles.anyway great to see someone else enjoyed the place and hope some stories and pictures arrive at the site as this is a great idea, will definitely save this place and return again. All the best bill
